Sheriff's Office Deputies marchingThe Contra Costa County, Office of the Sheriff, Law Enforcement Training Center was founded in 2001 through a partnership with Los Medanos College.  The Law Enforcement Training Center serves the entire State of California, with a primary focus on the San Francisco Bay Area.  Two sections comprise the Law Enforcement Training Center; the Basic Academy and the In Service/Technical Program.

The In Service/Technical Program is a series of advanced courses aimed at furthering the skills, knowledge and training of peace officers.  Courses of study range from automobile accident investigation and emergency vehicle operations to courses dedicated to developing supervisors and training officers.  Most courses are certified by the California Commission on Peace Officer Standards and Training (P.O.S.T.), with some classes certified by the California Department of Corrections, Standards for Training In Corrections (S.T.C.).

It is the goal of the Law Enforcement Training Center to provide high quality, cutting edge training to law enforcement professionals.
