They are professionals in both their full-time jobs and their part-time career with the Office of the Sheriff. Reserve Deputies take great pride in the organization and the services that they provide.

Deputy Sheriff Reserves are California Sworn Reserve Peace Officers that are trained at or above the state POST Standards.  If you are interested in volunteering your time to protect and serve your community, we want to talk to you.  We are hiring Level III, II, and I Reserves.

Respond to Service CallsPhoto of Officer's Vehicles

Reserves support all types of law enforcement service calls with full time deputies.  Whether it is a false alarm, a dog left in a hot car, or a serious crime, you will be an integral part of handling the call.

Transport Arrestees

Contra Costa County covers over 715 square miles and has 1.1 million residents.  As a Reserve Deputy, you will transport arrestees from all over the county to our detention facilities, allowing full time deputies to stay in their communities.
