The Court Security Services Unit (CSSU) is a function of the Office of the Sheriff - Custody Services Bureau and has provided security for the Contra Costa County Superior Court since 1988. 

The Unit is comprised of 95 staff members who provide professional law enforcement services at seven courthouses throughout Contra Costa County.

The Unit and its staff members are dedicated to maintaining proper decorum and providing prompt, efficient and impartial service to the courts and the citizens of Contra Costa County.
