The mission of the Law Enforcement Training Center is to provide innovative, high-quality training to local, state, and federal law enforcement professionals. Our motto is “Excellence in Training and Education”.   

The Training Division’s In-Service Unit offers a wide variety of advanced professional development courses focusing on furthering the skills, knowledge, and training of peace officers. Courses of instruction range from Basic Traffic Accident Investigation and Emergency Vehicle Operations to courses dedicated to developing civilian law enforcement supervisors and field training officers. Our training amenities include a diverse outdoor firearms range(s), Emergency Vehicle Operations Course with Skid Pan, and state-of-the-art driving simulator and force option simulator equipment. Our courses are certified by the California Commission on Peace Officer Standards and Training (P.O.S.T.), with some classes certified by the California Department of Corrections, Standards for Training In Corrections (S.T.C.).
