The City of Orinda contracts police services with the Contra Costa County Office of the Sheriff.

With a staff of 14, Orinda police personnel serve approximately 18,681 people over 12.7 square miles.

Officers respond to calls for service, provide traffic enforcement and traffic accident investigations as well as conduct criminal investigations.

Orinda Police Officers work closely with the city staff at the executive and staff level and participate in civic celebrations such as the 4th of July parade, school kick-off barbecues and holiday festivals.
